Batory Foods (Rosemont, IL) announced the formation of a new business unit called Batory Sweetener Solutions following the acquisition of Savannah-based Sweetener Solutions in early 2022. Batory explained that the business unit will work on all initiatives around food and beverage sweeteners, from traditional ingredients and low-sugar alternatives to precision blends and custom formulations.
“Through the Batory sweetener solution, Batory Foods is eager to support customers in making a meaningful impact on healthier food and beverage products through more and better-tasting low-sugar options,” said Vince Pinneri, president of Batory Foods, in a release . “As a preeminent and growing player in sweeteners and sugar reduction, we see it as our corporate responsibility to help alleviate major public health concerns, while supporting our customers in delivering quality products to their consumers.”
Batory Sweetener Solutions will be led by Jessica Zielinski, who spent the previous two years as Director of Sales for Batory Foods. Zielinski has extensive experience in the food ingredients industry, including a decade-long tenure at Tate & Lyle through promotions.
Pinneri added: “Our exponential growth in sweeteners over the past few years has brought us to this very satisfying place – our sweetener capabilities require our business to have its own dedicated cornerstone.” As Batory’s sweetener solutions launch and mature, we will continue to expand our ingredient offerings and capabilities in sweeteners to address key consumer trends for sugar reduction and sugar substitution – while delivering innovative, delightful solutions to meet the growing sugar consumption problem.”
