Señor Sisig
Founded by childhood friends Evan Kidera and Gil Payumo, Señor Sisig began as a single food truck offering Filipino-Mexican fusion cuisine. Today, it has expanded to four trucks and three restaurants across the Bay Area. Their growth was supported by leveraging technology to streamline operations and maintain consistency across locations.
In the Black
Located in the historic Fillmore District, “In the Black” is a marketplace dedicated to supporting Black-owned businesses. Since its launch in 2023, it has provided a platform for approximately 20 vendors, offering them affordable retail space and helping to revitalize the area’s economic vitality.
Financial Assistance Programs
First Year Free Program
To support and revive small businesses, San Francisco introduced the First Year Free program, which waives initial registration fees, license fees, and first-year permits for qualifying new businesses. Enrollment is automatic upon registering a new business or location with the city.
Downtown Business Fund
Launched in April 2026, the Downtown Business Fund provides move-in grants, affordable loans, and hands-on support to businesses along key downtown corridors. The fund aims to mobilize private capital to support businesses opening, expanding, or reimagining their presence in downtown San Francisco.
