1 dead, 2 arrested in fatal shooting at southern Indiana business – WISH-TV | Indianapolis News | Indiana Weather

MADISON, Ind. (WISH) — Indiana State Police are investigating the death of a Madison man who was shot Thursday morning outside a business in southern Indiana.

Around 10:30 a.m., the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received reports of a shooting in the parking lot of a business on County Road 400 North, west of U.S. Highway 421. That was Madison Precision Products, an aluminum die-casting company that makes engine parts.

Police located a man in the parking lot, later identified as Justin L. Hall, 34, who died, according to a news release. The two men involved in the shooting remain at the scene and were taken into custody immediately. They were later identified as Christian M. Kennedy, 21, and Mathew P. Redd, 36.

Investigators said the three men arrived in the parking lot in a vehicle before the shooting. They started fighting outside the company, resulting in Hall being shot.

Investigators do not believe the shooting was related to Madison Precision Products nor was it random. No danger to the public.

Both Kennedy and Reed were arrested on preliminary charges of murder.

Madison is located about 50 miles (80.5 km) northeast of Louisville, Kentucky along the Ohio River.
